Looking for tips on preparing a manuscript for publication? Listen to the presentation by MEDSURG Nursing Journal Editor Dottie Roberts on “Writing for Publication.” Dottie provides tips for potential authors on how to get started in the writing process and reviews the manuscript revision and publication process. The author will receive proofs via email for review prior to publication. Authors have the responsibility to verify that they have read all the materials cited in their manuscript and, if necessary, have contacted the relevant authors to verify the accuracy of cited material. Acquiring permission to reprint previously published materials is the responsibility of the author. Upon acceptance of the manuscript, the author will yield copyright to MEDSURG Nursing. Each manuscript is reviewed on its timeliness, importance, clarity, accuracy, and applicability to adult health/medical-surgical nursing. All manuscripts submitted undergo review by the editor and blind review by members of the manuscript review panel and/ or editorial board members. Material is submitted for review with the understanding that it is not being submitted to any other journal simultaneously. Material must be original and never published before. Query letters are welcome, but not required. The journal accepts original articles: case studies, letters, descriptions of clinical care, and research. Unless clearly specified, the views expressed in articles, editorials, and letters published in MEDSURG Nursing represent the opinions of the authors and do not reflect the official policies of AMSN. The journal's goal is to enhance the knowledge and skills of medical-surgical nurses to promote health, prevent and manage disease, and improve the health status of patients and their families. MEDSURG Nursing, the official journal of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses, is a scholarly journal dedicated to advancing evidence-based medical-surgical nursing practice, clinical research, and professional development.
